Alright, I am getting rips like crazy where my callus at the bottom of my fingers are.
I've heard a pumice stone being suggested to help rips...sooo...how do you use the pumice stone. I do have one but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it!
Thanks!

I have one and for mine at least you're supposed to soak it in water for a while before you use it. I think it also works better when your hands have been in warm water for a while too. Then you just rub it over your hands where all the rough parts and calluses are. Works pretty well for me :]

The pumice stone will help bring down your calluses, and therefore there will be no skin lifted off the rest of your hand to rip. Just soak your hands in warm water until they become soft, then scrub each of your calluses with the pumice stone. It will probably take a while the first time if you have a lot, but if you do it consistently, it shouldn't take as long every time.

Think sandpaper - My DD uses it after a shower when everthing is soft and easy to remove. She wets the stone and basiclly rubs it over the areas she needs to like sandpaper. She still has tough skin there and her hands look like she works in the field all day but the Calluses that would rip are gone. She also does her feet as she has some on her feet from various gym things she does too.

When she is done she uses "Pretty Feet and Hand" on her hands and feet.

I use a pumice stone before i go to practice, it really helped reduce the amount of rips i've had in the past few weeks. I use to rip every week i went to bars, now i can go a month or a little more w/o ripping :P Soak your hands for a little bit and rub it agiasnt the callous. It should smooth them down a bit.
