Parents Question: Does youw school district offer Independent Study PE

Our district allows a period off as an opt out. The principal has to sign a paper that explains what she will be doing to make up for the missed p.e. This is only for 7th and 8 th grades. No opt out for high school.

No opt out in our district at any level. High schoolers have to make up missed PE classes. Even if missed for injury, illness, school trip or for missing due to high school athletic competition. The policy has been so strict and there has been a lot of focus on changing it!

Our school district also has Option II for high school Pe. Upper middle school has some kind of homework group but it was full. My suggestion is to speak with your child`s guidance counselor to see what options could be worked out.
