Does anyone know if there are any regulations for orthodontic appliances in a gymnasts mouth during a meet? My daughter is getting a lip bumper put in (goes on the bottom of her mouth to keep her from sucking on her lip). It's also sometimes used to go in front of bottom braces for protection, so it sticks out a lot farther than braces do. I'm just wondering if if would be considered a hazard or something like that. It's not a removable piece so it's not like she can just take it out for meets. Does anyone know if there are rules for things like this?

I'll see if I can find a picture so you can see what it looks like.
