About to get back into looking for another coaching position.

What do you think? Beards acceptable as a WAG coach?

However, managed to grow a beard these past few months. It isn't ZZTop long but it's maybe one inch long or so on my chin if I were to measure it by pulling on it.

My hair is back to being this long again.

Obviously I could cut it and go back to high and tight as I pretty much hate anything in between and I could just grow out the beard again in 4 months or so.

I'm pretty sure it's moot in MAG though I tend to be pretty clean shaven with short High&Tight during men's competitive season. I've gone with either the long-ish hair (for me) or High&Tight when coaching girls.

I'm pretty sure little girls would think it's pretty funny and little boys, well I don't think they really ever care.

It shouldn't be a factor if it's kept trimmed and edged. On the other hand...... it's a bad idea if folks can look at your face and figure out what you had for dinner the night before.

It's small bushy atm. I hate my face without facial hair but a stache never comes in well.

Of course, I'll probably trim the beard it for interviews.

But I will be keeping epic 80's Fabio hair.

From reading your posts, I gather that you are a very knowledgeable and capable coach who would be a welcome addition to most programs. :) Having said that, I myself feel appearance is very important. My staff wears coaching uniforms, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos, no excessive makeup, etc. We are entrusted with the most valuable possession people have..... their children. So with that comes a lot of responsibility, and part of that is how we look and behave around their children. We both know that beard or no beard isn't going to change who you are, but there is no denying that people (me included) do tend to judge a book by it's cover. At the end of the day, I believe that your experience would far outweigh any negative that an owner might feel towards the beard. Good luck in your pursuits, and there is a lucky gym owner out there that doesn't even know it yet! :)

Maybe a neat beard would be ok in WAG.

Just wondering since I rarely see beards in WAG I think.

Shaved beard, now hate face.

Forgot how much I didn't like being clean shaven.
