Hello!

I'm a design student currently working on a 2-week project that involves designing training shoes for circus performers (which in essence are gymnasts).

It would great if I could get some feedback, especially from people with first hand experience, on some of the designs I've been working on. My design direction is footwear for training, that protects and supports the ankle, as well as providing compression for the forefoot with cushioning and traction.

Also, if you could design a "dream shoe", what would the shoe have?

Arch support that is adaptable. Fun project. Are you going with the vibram toe concept?

Yup, I'm planning to go with the vibram toe concept. Do you think heel cushioning would be an important?

Yes, gymnasts have many issues with the Achilles tendons, so a slight padded lift in the heels would reduce the need for heel cups (you can google those things).

Don't forget the support, make them in colors/fun designs/rhinestones/ect. lots of girls get 2 pairs, 1 for training that has fun designs and the other just plain white, black, or tan for competition. Have fun!
