i know there's a lot of threads about being sore, but i just have some questions. so whenever i do conditioning at home i am REALLY sore the next day or two. so i did a lot yesterday and today my butt and thighs are veery sore and it hurts just walking, i have gymnastics tomorrow and i don't know what to do. this happened before and i had to miss a practice because there's no way i can do it if it hurts to do simple things. do you think i'm overworking my muscles? and also do you know any stretches for your butt/arms/thighs so its not so sore anymore? (last time i worked my thighs and when i got up my thigh felt like its was burning and tingling, the soreness went away about 3-4 days after)

I would say take it easy on the home conditioing! I commend you for having the dedication to condition at home, because I know many of us have a hard time focusing! How many days a week do you go to the gym? I would say to focus more on stretching at home then comditioing. Save that for the gym.

It is possible that you have been overworking your muscles from doing too much at home. Have you been stretching after you condition? That helps you from getting sore. Also try take a hot shower or bath to try and relax them. Maybe even see if you have a family member that you can persuade them into giving you a massage! ;)

I hope this helps you a little bit!

awe. muscle aches are horrible. D: but i know from experience that when you start working them the pain isn't so bad as it was before. Espom salt works wonders for me before practice. Hot baths are also nice.
Another thing you could try is for muscle aches and pains is to soak in a tub full of warm water with two cups of apple cider vinegar mixed in it. :) hope you feel better!

In my experience, soreness tends to go away after I've warmed up. When you do strength at the gym, do you stretch after? We usually do all three splits and sometimes a bridge. I think I read somewhere that stretching after conditioning helps prevent soreness. Good luck!!

Beamlove--go back and read what you wrote. You said you are so sore the day after doing conditioning at home you can barely walk and at least once had to skip your regular practice. This is not normal soreness. You are way overdoing the home workout. Not sure why you feel you have to condition at home, but you need to keep it to a minimum or just do some stretching if you feel like you have to do something. Doesn't make sense to do conditioning outside of the gym that causes you to then MISS gym.
