Hi there, I’m new here. My names Chelsea, and I was curious if anyone knew how you find out how many teams/kids in your kids age group will be competing at their state meet?
My daughter and nieces are going to be going to Southern California state meet next month for Xcel Bronze. They are ages 6 and 7. It’s their first year doing this, so everything is new to us. Just wanted to see if anyone knew how you find out those details? Or if anyone has ever been before and has any idea so we know what to expect. Any tips or any info on what the State meets are like! Thanks in advance! :).

All I can tell you is that there will be multiple age groups in their session. Age groups are capped at 35 gymnasts (but late scratches could make it less). It looks like they place top 10 for each event and All Around.
They take all of the gymnasts competing in the Xcel Bronze State meet, put them in order from youngest to oldest (or oldest to youngest) and divide at no more than 35 each time. The youngest group is Child A ... Child A-D is in session 109 (April 5 with an 8am report time).
Since the youngest Bronze gymnasts have to be at least 5 years old, I would think that 6 and 7-year-olds would be in this session or the next session.

The next session has Child E-H. After that is Child I-L. Then, it is Junior A-D, E-H, and (on 4/6) I-L. Finally, they have Senior A-D, E-H, I-L, and M-P (along with the Xcel Bronze graduating senior recognition, if any).
