Our team is a USAG compulsory team that did just ok this season. The gym has made it clear the girls will be repeating the level. My concern is that all the girls had roughly the same scoring, they practice 12-14 hrs per week, and the coaching will be the same. If they didn’t improve in an entire season of 12-14 hrs with the coaches, is it worth sticking around to repeat the same agenda? Would we be better off repeating at a program that has a reputation of high technical proficiency?

Is it normal for most girls to repeat lower levels at this gym?

Did your child show progress throughout the season, or just stay the same? Not just with scores, but with skills, upgrades?

I am curious which level it is, because there's almost no reason to do level two twice, nor level five in my opinion. Two because it's extremely basic and five because it's already so similar to six.

If you are repeating level three, it's likely because you don't have a strong kip, so if that's the case, again, is there progress happening? Are they working kips and gaining the strength needed? How is vault going?

Level four - if the plan would be to repeat, up train, and get 2 36s in the AA to score out of five and into six for the next year, I could see that.

But I would be wary of an entire level being unprepared to move up. Everyone progresses at a different rate, but if there's an entire group not scoring particularly well and not learning new skills, I might look into other gyms.
