Women Strap bars with gloves too slippery?

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate some advise / to hear other people's experiences

I have a question. We don't really have a PVC-tube strap bar at our gym atm. I want to work giants on the strap bar. I've got gloves (tight woolen gloves I think?) and straps, which we're allowed to use on a strap bar or mens bar. The straps feel super tight when I am not swinging, to the point that I wonder if I need to go up a size. But when I'm swinging, they feel a lot looser I keep feeling like I'm slipping. I think it might be the slipperyness of the gloves, making it feel like I can't hold onto the bar myself. It makes it terrifying to put 100% into my tap swings.

Is this a more common issue when doing strap bar with gloves? Does anyone have any solutions?

I think it is a common feeling, most of my gymnasts feel slippery at the beginning but with time they start to feel more comfortable. I'd try to work on it for some time and see if it gets better,
Thanks for your reply.

We've had these bars for a few years but I never really practised much on them, just every now and then. So far it hasn't gotten better, but I'll definitely try to practise on them more consistently to see if that'll help. I feel fine doing clear hip to horizontal drills on them, but for giants it always feels super slippery.
