My DS has quite a swayback going. It is affecting his front tumbling as he stick his bottom out, lands on his heels and can't keep momentum. Does anyone know of any conditioning, stretching, etc he can do that will help wtih this? His coach is also looking around for some additional iideas, but thought you guys might have something too!

If he has this all the time, like when is is just standing, because his pelvis is tilted forward pushing the butt out, then stretching the quads and hip flexors might help. Gymnasts condition quads and hip flexors so much it can shorten them pulling the pelvis forward to an abnormal angle. I've seen this in girl gymnasts, I don't know much about boy gymnasts but I guess it could happen the same way. If it is more of a back thing than a butt thing, then I don't know...probably more core work.

It's common in many young gymnasts of both genders but we see it more with girls seeing as there is 6x as many female gymnasts than males.

Work more hollow/pelvic tilt. A lot of is just posture training teaching them to be mindful of their posture.
