Tomorrow our optionals coaches are taking all of our level 9 and 10 girls to a travel meet. So I will be left with level 4-8. I want to do something fun for them but still keep it productive.

Any fun game suggestions that include also actually getting things done?

Was thinking of breaking them into routines and they have to do a routine on every beam, but track their falls. The team with the least amount of falls gets a prize…. Hopefully we get no falls!!

Any other ideas? Open to something creative!

I've seen snakes and ladders used. Every hit routine you can roll the dice. Probably can be adapted to any old board game in the closet.

It could be simple as recording hit routines down. If they make '100' as a group for the day they can have some sort of gymnastics challenge/game at the end. You could also add bonus points for things that impressed you.

Beam - Beam War!
Get a card deck and split into teams or partners, each suit is an assignment, forr ex heres what i do for my xcel golds (the card # is how many they have to do that are stuck/nice) when a team finishes a card/assignment they put a tally on whiteboard, team that gets the most cards done wins.
spades: Turns
hearts: Routine Acro skills (HS/CW or whatever they do)
clubs: Full Routines
diamonds: Leaps / Jumps
Jack: 30s Partner HS Hold
Queen: 30s (or max) Straddle Hold
King: Your pick
Joker: 5 Burpees

Floor - Diagonal tumbling point game
split group into 2 Teams, put them in opposite corners, call out tumbling or skills, both groups go (all do that skill in their diagonal). Whichever team did it nicer collectively gets the point, most points at the end wins and gets to pick if they wanna do floor routines first or last (or whatever prize)

Vault - Consequence
pick a # or assignment and a time. for example, 3 stuck vaults in a row in 10 mins. at the end of the time, if they do successfully they get to go to tramp or something for 5 mins, if they dont, they spend those 5 mins doing drills or vault conditioning
