Several months ago I posted when trying to decide whether or not to move my DS to a new gym with an established boys team. We made the move and it has paid off. DS made team as a level 5!! I am so proud of himand I can't wait to see how far he can go with his gymnastics!

That is fantastic news! I bet he is so excited. I am looking forward to hearing more and more about how he is doing :)

Well they canceled boys class due to lack of students ... Now we have find a gym... :(

Oh no! I am so sorry. that just stinks :( Are there any close to you??? What are your options?

I'm so sorry. I hope you can find a place where he can really thrive though.

They say they " think " they will have a boys class in fall ... But I doubt it cause the boys are dropping out like crazy mainly cause there is no coach

We stayed at our first gym for nine months because the owner said he was "building" a boys team. Even though he didnt have all of the equipment needed for boys when DS first started, I decided to give the owner the benefit of the doubt. He never got all of the equipment, and with the exception of perhaps the first couple of months we were at the gym, the boys never really had a coach dedicated soley to the boys. The boys were an afterthought. The last straw for me was when the owner actually told me that he wasn't going to pay $10,000 for parallel bars and that the girls at the gym are his bread and butter! I don't know anything about the cost of gym equipment, but no matter how much it costs, if you advertise that you have boys program and that boys can work up to the competitive level in your program, then you should have a coach as well as all of the equipment necessary to run such a program. The sad thing is that gym is still adversting that boys in their program can work up to the competitive level! How misleading!! It's really not my problem anymore, but I hate to see other people wasting their money there if their sons want to do competitive gymnastics. My point in telling you all this is that maybe its a good thing that you are being forced to look elsewhere. I hope you find a place where you son can learn and have fun!

Yes you read my mind . It's almost like they don't really care about the boys .. They treat it like play time, the boys aren't learning much . No hopes of ever having a team, it's disappointing that all the boys are quitting and no one seems to care .

I found a gym but it's really a cheer/tumbling gym .. I'm going to let him go for the summer. The gymnastics gym that I want to put him doesn't have class during summer :(

Yeah, Heather, you need your guy in a gym with an established team! People will say you're crazy for driving, but you might be able to find a carpool. Good luck figuring it out.

Thanks everyone ! We are gonna do the summer tumbling but when they start enrollment at the gymnastics gym .. I'll be driving ..
