I would imagine that would create all sorts of issues. She is already getting complaints from coaches and parents who don't understand that this is just a fun project, not the olympic trials.

Well, I can see how this can cause some people to get twitchy. Any level of recognition boosts confidence/egos (or can end up on a gymnastics "resume") and frankly, for girls who have already had their months of gymnastics glory/celebration, it gives them one more inspiration to repost/share/talk about in the gym/etc.. or one more motivation to keep them training hard. Which is why.. whatever.. it's fine, one way or another. These "season average" metrics don't take into account event specialists, girls who peak at the end of the season, and of course can't celebrate those who were injured at some point but otherwise did great. They are a numbers game and therefore, meh. But if it is fun to you or makes a girl smile because she's getting another pat on the back for her hard work, let her have her fun.

These things don't really matter in the long run..

Actually, since it included averages on individual events, then event specialists would be able to be included. And if an injured girl did great in at least 3 meets, she could also be included.

I really is just for fun as it really isn't that accurate. If perhaps age divisions were done it would be more accurate. Again why complain if someone else didn't put their time into it. Its all good. But i can see both sides of why people would complain. I think she said she would do one for HOPEs which makes no sense in that all you have to do is go and look at the scores from the championships..
