My gymmie appears to have very tight hamstrings which may be affecting her ability to get her legs completely straight on pull overs, leg raises, etc. I never noticed until tonight when she was goofing around at home and stretching her legs. Is this common? I did some reading and it could be related to a weak core, back, etc. What should we do?

Agree with talking to coaches. Does your gym happen to have a dance teacher on staff? My dd has tight hamstrings too and our dance instructor who works with them an hour once a week was able to give her some great stretching ideas. It has helped tremendously. And it doesn't hurt to stretch and do splits, sit in pike, etc at home on the off days either, my dd has had to work hard for her flexibility so I totally get it!

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
