Well, the changed summer hours have been great for my dd. She has really enjoyed the time in with the bigger girls and has been given the option of joining their group full time in the fall!

It's a bit more of a time commitment then we had planned for this year. 9 hours instead of 4 a week if she stays with her original group, but she feels ready for the challenge and loves the group.

My husband and I have had a few discussions and spoken to a few mom's about car pooling, so it looks like it may work out.

I'll let you know what we decide.

Go for it!

Just remember, gymnastics is fun. If she doesn't like it then do something else. It's tough to teach your child not to be a quitter and at the same time tell them it's ok to do new things. As a coach, I have had several gymnast progress out of gymnastics into new things (national champion in judo, a diver, a pole vaulter, pro motocross rider, etc). Gymnastics was not thier final destination, but gymnastics helped them get there.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
