I have two questions:

Is a double back (tucked) on floor a C or D?

Also, for my doubles, I've realized that my ankles aren't as strong as I'd like them to be on my landings. Any good ankle conditioning suggestions (or conditioning that would help make landing less painful)?

Thanks!

A double tuck is a 'D'. As for painful landings, you need to notify your coach. Not sure if you are landing them short, over use injury, or a host of other potential problems, but definitely something you don't want to self diagnose. My girls always land on a sting mat or 4" mat unless we are at a meet, and sometimes even there if the floor is not that great. Good luck to you. :)

I have actually been going on an 8-incher on the floor, which doesn't hurt at all. Then I moved to the 4-incher but I guess my body wasn't prepared for the harder landing. But my ankles are fine everywhere else. I think I just need to get stronger, but I appreciate your concern :).

Make sure you stretch out your ankles before tumbling. This might help with the pain and also try using a sting mat to land on.
