Parents um, what is the D?

ok, from what i can tell.. DD is daughter, DS is son , DH is husband, etc.. but what exactly does the D stand for? i've been trying to guess for like a month now.. thanks!

In the case of my kids it usually means dear.....for my husband it can sometimes mean dumb or dang. lol

or it could be referring to the "d" difficulty score of a routine, skill, etc.

D = Difficulty
