unusual injury????

DD went to ortho after several weeks of pain in her right shoulder/ clavicle area. She did not have an accident at gym or anywhere else that we know of. Xray was not clear enough so CT was taken and showed some irregularity with some deformity along the medial head of the right clavicle (sternoclavicular joint). It is intact though which is good. Radiologist put that it was worrisome for stress facture. MD wants her to go for 2nd opinion to a pediatric ortho. Has anyone else ever had this injury. This doesn't seem to be the typical gymnastics injury. MD must not be too concerned because he has not stopped her gymnastics, but I will if it gets worse.
