This coming weekend, my husband and I are having a "divide and conquer" kind of weekend. My DH is taking DD #1 (only #1 by 28 minutes... they're twins) to a cousin's wedding on the other side of the country. DD #2 (Kathy, my gymnast) and I are going to visit a friend in Philly (road trip!). It is also my birthday this weekend and I am desperately in need of a pedicure. Kathy has super-thick nails that I hate dealing with and, even though she's only 9, I thought that maybe it would be fun for her to get a pedicure with me (though she's not much of a girly-girl, so I don't know what she will think about it). I know any and all polish will have to come off before her first meet on Oct. 23, but besides that, is there any reason, from a gymnastics standpoint, that she shouldn't have one? It sounds so silly when I write it down, but really... does she have calluses on her feet that should stay there? Will having soft smooth feet make her slip off the beam? Or make it more difficult for her to squat-on the bars or anything like that? Thanks, in advance, for your answers, and for not laughing at me (much).
