I used to be in gymnastics's but was taken out a few years ago. I really miss it & am somewhat wanting to start up again & take one on one classes. But I don't know if there would be any real point at this point. It seems like its too late.

You didn't state your goals. Also it might be helpful to know what skill level you are at if you are wanting to compete. Private lessons are a lot of money and are mostly used by competitive gymnasts that are really struggling on a certain skill. That is up to you, but why not check and see if there is a class you could join, you might get more out of it. As far as if it is too late or any point in it, gymnastics is a physical activity, it teaches strenght, flexibility, control, how to manage fears, really the list goes on. So if you want to have learning those things as goals it is never too late. It may be pointless if you are like 65 and looking to compete in the next Olympics.

As 10.0 stated, you need to clarify your goals. If you want to improve, strength, flexility, and most of all, have fun with the sport, then go for it!! Not everyone who's in gymnastics has the goal of Olympics or College scholarships. Some people enjoy competing on a team, some enjoy the slower pace of recreation classes. The bottom line is that you're never too old to enjoy the sport!

I agree with both--what are your goals? If you just miss gymnastics and want the fun of working the skills, there is no "too late"! Sign up for a class (they have high school classes pretty much at every gym, don't they?) and get out there and have fun! If you want to compete, then talk to your parents about your goals and wanting to be on team again--and in that case, some privates would probably be helpful. Would you be looking at going back to the gym you were at? Talk to the coaches there and get their input on what you should do.
