Wondering what vault Simone performed? I thought her 'comp' vaults are either Amanar with difficulty of 5.8, or Biles (6.4) or Cheng (5.4). Or am I mistaken and Amanar is actually 6.0 and that's what she did?

Can someone explain to me why the alternate situation is different at this World's than at the Olympics? I've noticed that in Doha Ragan has suited up and been with the team, even receiving the team gold medal. At the Olympics, you don't see the shadow of the alternates.

No she can’t step in. She is there because at Worlds the alternate also gets a team medal.

If the US wins a non-nominative spot through the AA World Cups or Pan Ams (which they almost certainly will), they could select her to fill one of those spots. She cannot qualify for a nominative spot through the EF World Cups
