The only time a gym is really "okay" with someone changing gyms is if they are relocating (selling house, states away etc) otherwise it's just nasty and I would never inform a gym I was moving until I was out the door...BTDT. Gyms will "say" they're ok with it but don't belive them and protect...
I had 2 level 10s (one was L10 at 10yo , the other at 12 yo) and they always went to Brick and Mortar school , no homeschooling. They were dismissed every day at 1:30 pm for our 2 hour+ commute (each way) to arrive by 4 pm for practice...they ate a snack on the way up ad did homework...at 8:30...
I think the biggest thing that screwed up recruiting was the “extra COVID years” … some weren’t even affected but got extra years, messing up the pipeline of years down the road.
There’s not a chance I would stay at a gym for a third year of Level 4 when she already has the mobility scores to move up…..Compulsory scores do not dictate her optionals potential. As I have said before, my 7 year Level 10 D1 gymnast NEVER broke 32.00 in any compulsory level … so I would move...
She went from perfect attendance and glowing reviews to late 10 times and less than stellar reviews? For starters, in a group, if someone is running in late all the time it can be disruptive to the rest of the group and your daughter as she hasn’t heard the instruction from the get go … and you...

Agree to disagree because every time we went the best gymnasts that went on to Olympic teams or to be NCAA powerhouses were there … was there someone who might not have made it ? Sure but in general, the best were there.
And your realignment of states would totally take away the regional...
But that’s the thing …… Texas could have its own region with the amount of gymnasts they have and like ORgymmom says , region 2 tends to have less gyms and therefore less gymnasts because of where they are but flipping Oregon into Region 6 for example might make your numbers look better but the...
This is EXACTLY what I am referring to and after 20 years , nothing changes ....the Region 2 National Qualifier is a National Qualifier from her region and people need to stop "region shaming" (for lack of a better word) ...there are probably many more powerhouse gyms or even looser judging in...
This is brought up every year … usually by regions feeling that they have somehow been wronged by folks living, and qualifying to Nationals, in less gymnast populated regions …
