My daughter ( sixth grader, just complete level 8 regionals) goes from 4-8 four days a week. We live about 30 minutes from the gym. She finally gets to bed around 9:30 and up at 6:00 for school.
In Region 7, the top 8 from level 8 compete for the state meet but do not compete individually. All girls who are going regionals are getting a leotard this year.
Hi,

Daughter had a meet a week after having been out all week at the gym/school with the flu. Needless to say she fell off the beam twice and scored a 7.4.
Daughter had elbow surgery in August. She is competing level 8 and training level 9. Her first meet was Saturday. While it definitely wasn’t her highest( she’s usually in the 37-38 club), she qualified for states and got a first place for bars(9.5) , fourth on beam and fourth AA. While she...
We live about 10 minutes from our local gym but have chosen to commute to a gym about 45 minutes each way. While it is definitely a bigger commute than staying local it was the best decision. The local gym only has one level eight( the highest level offered ). The gym where my daughter trains...
She’s going into the gym for two hours instead of the daily four hour practices which has helped( allowed to use tumble track, able to beam with no tumbling,
practice vault runs and work on her dance sections of her floor routine ). That being said while she has made peace with not competing...
My daughter was state champion at Level 5 and did level 6. Her coach explained that due to age ( She was 9)and maturity that he felt doing a year of six would benefit her. He was right. Could it be maturity?
I can definitely empathize. My daughter is entering sixth grade and is a level 8. Last year when she was at level 7 she has the highest bars score out of all divisions at the state meet. She also is a bars girl and who was diagnosed with OCD about a month ago. She was out for about six weeks...
