If anyone has any suggestions of good but cheap video cameras that work well in gym and at comps please let me know. Also any advice on good camera qualities to help me look would be very helpful. What do you use? Thanks.
We aren't paying this yet but I was told since it's in our near future (end of comp season):
L3 9hrs/week
$115 monthly
~$100 per meet (will be fundraising with booster club)
Leos every 2 years
Responsible for own travel fees
Right now:
Pre-team 2hrs/week $85 monthly
I see that at our gym. Some parents I see live for appearances and the attention they get because of their child and if that is interrupted by another child's success she could feel threatened. Wether the other child is as good or just progressing and catching up at a faster pace. It's sad but...
They are probably jealous of the recognition your DD received when it was decided to move her up or that their DD is practicing with a child who is younger doing the same skills. Or maybe bc your new. What ever their deal is you are a proud mom and should hold your head up and show them that...
@tooootsie thanks! lol I can see what you meant though! She has been in gym for 5 months. She is doing 2hrs a week with pre team right now. She will start 6hrs a week at the end of this comp season. Competing level 3 is the "plan" for her but our gym has girls compete L2 as well so I'm sure if...
As a fairly new to gymnastics mom my dd is only 5 just now coming out of rec and has never even heard the word kip in the gym. But I can not wait for it to come up! She naturally has great tumbling and balance skills. So floor and beam work seems to come easy but bars like I said before are a...
Haha nope no kip! We are just getting the hang of hip circles. She's a fast learner so maybe by time she is old enough to compete but right now bars are the weak point!
Hi all. Previously I had posted to get advice about DD moving from rec gym to pre team at 5 yo. She has really been enjoying her new class and has gained new strengths and skills!
After returning from winter break and talking with one of her coaches I was informed that the plan for DD was to...
Hey all. I just wanted to give an update since today was the day DD started "pre-team"! She had a great time and really enjoyed the longer practice time and harder skills that she got to work on! I spoke to her new instructor. Today was the first day of this age group (5yo) class. So in regards...
@Becauseisaid Great advice and info! There is 2 more classes before the gym closes for winter break. I will suggest the next 2 sessions be trial. And I'll definitely be asking some of the questions you suggested! I've been trying to come up with a list of ?'s and have been unable to come up with...
Iwannacoach, that is the exact reasoning behind us leaving cheerleading. She seemed uninterested in it and even a little bored with it after doing it twice a week at 2 hours a practice. I'm going to let HC at gym know we do not want more that the 2 hour class per week at least until she decides...
Domalley, thanks for sharing. Our gym has 2 sets of uneven bars, about 7 beams, a couple vault stations and 2 foam pits. It has everything needed.
We've done class on several different days and from what I can see there just isnt many girls of my daughters age at the gym. There is a lot of...
