    Women Nike pro kids

Could be what everyone else is mentioning, but also might be that you're looking at a 5 or even 7 inch inseam instead of 3. 3 inches is most common.

    Gymnasts back tuck mental block

Yes! I self-taught myself my back tuck and started with low back whips that looked exactly like a back handspring without my hands. Once I was comfortable with back whips, I added height, a set, and tucking.

    Parents Bar at home

Sure. But gymnasts are more capable of more dangerous and technique-driven circling skills. Young gymnasts also see the big girls doing the crazy stuff on bars that is very dangerous to attempt without a coach drilling it and such. A playground-esque bar that she isn't allowed to do skills on...

Women Bronze vault has turned into a roll

Well, that could very well be the case. Perhaps her coaches should try drilling the handspring over the mat stack to see if that solves it. She might just have too much power. My favorite drill for that is having a barrel on the mat stack that they roll over instead of flatback-ing.

Women Bronze vault has turned into a roll

Well, if her vault isn't even a solid flatback then she probably shouldn't move up. I don't believe in moving up levels just because of the time spent in one. It's about skills.

Off Topic Writing a YA Gymnastics Novel — What Would You Want to See?

I've actually watched that show and the movies already! I'm only 16 so I've experienced my fair share of gymnastics media.

Off Topic Writing a YA Gymnastics Novel — What Would You Want to See?

Hello! Mods, please delete if not allowed. I’m a former gymnast and now a rec coach. I’ve decided I want to write a book, and I have multiple plots of varying genres floating around my brain. I’d love to get opinions from gymnasts, parents, and coaches here. As I grew out of middle grade...

    Women Coach search

I'm not sure, but I think optionals/higher level coaching requires a certain level of expertise that isn't easily found. They need to have the strength and coordination to spot higher level skills on teenage bodies, as well as they need to know how to coach the higher-level skills that are much...

    Coaches Parentot class ideas

I don't teach these but they're pretty similar to our preschool classes and I've been trained on them. The way they're structured over here is ... Fun cardio (2-3 min) - Pit runs - Running up and down the trench - Animal walks (giraffe - releve walks, frog - squat jumps, cheetah - running...

Parents Wants to quit, no coaching

FIGURE SKATING. That's what I went to when I quit gymnastics. It's fun, it uses our flexibility, our core strength helps, we pick up choreo well, we can just adapt to the movements really well.

Coaches New Level 2’s: Tips please!

How do I find out who that is? And do you know anything about Xcel judging?

Women I cant get my gymnast to stop disrespecting each other, me and my fellow coaches, and I dont know what to do without being abusive. Any tips?

Jeez. I would have popped my lid. I'm just a rec coach I'd talk to parents, and have the entire team sign an anti-bullying contract that clearly outlines what is not acceptable (this is also a good idea to implement at the beginning of season, and have other things listed too, and have both...

Coaches New Level 2’s: Tips please!

I've found that teaching them what hollow and arch is, and conditioning through variations of them (holds, pulses, scissoring feet, flutter kicks, rocks, etc) will not only help tremendously with their core/back muscles, but will also help them know what the heck you mean when you tell them to...
