After my lost post where DD had been at her Provincial meet practice at the venue and did a dismount onto her head; everything turned around and she did great.
She was nervous going in, but the event order let her move on and it was a great day.
1st event Bars: DD looked pretty nervous and...

We had our last level 2 meet today for my 8 year old gymnast. She has been doing gymnastics for a total of about 6 months. She has been having trouble with her back hip circle and decided a few weeks ago that she was going to have it by the last meet. She worked hard during class and even stayed...
SO I try not to make a big deal about my kids skills because that is in fact what they are at the gym to learn, new skills. But I have to say, my girl is on fire on bars right now:) Got her stalder to handstand on strap, ready to move to real bar. Working her front stalder on strap. GOt her...
I have been so impressed by my 6 year old dd. She competed level 3 last year and one of the coaches wanted to have her repeat because she never made a 36 AA and only made her mill circle at one meet. I asked the head coach if we could wait and decide closer to the competitive season and she...
Haha I say that in jest ;) but really I am sooooo proud of my dd. She is still three and we switched gyms in February. Her new gym is conditioning focused and this is one of their conditioning exercises. She could not even hulahoop with a small hoop when she started there a few weeks ago...
Okay, so I just had to share with others who would have a clue what I'm talking about. DD was VERY excited to get her kip this weekend, and wanted to tell everyone she knew. The reaction was the same for almost everyone: "That's great! What's a kip?" She would tell them, "It's a...
My dd had her states Friday. She did well, but I dont understand. She got 5th AA. Her beam was clean, still she got 8.8. Today, at home, she was on trampoline. She got front/back tuck. Back layout, backhandspring, and backhandspring layout stepout. Id put a video online, but she doesnt...
Earlier this week I had posted on the "giving bad news" thread disappointed because my dd's coach had said she needed to stay L2 for the summer and maybe move up in the fall. Lo and behold, today the team coach was coaching the rec class and handed me a letter saying "I was going to mail this...
7 year old DD got her ROBHSBHS tonight several times in a row! She was so excited! She just finished L3 this season and has all of her (new) L4 skills minus the kip. But that's getting closer too. Fingers crossed that it will click over the summer :)
When her coach told me that she planned on...
Younger gymmie (age 8 Level 4) had her district championship meet. She has been sooooooo close to her front hip circle for the past few weeks. The coach said that she would probably get it with the adrenaline at this meet. It was modified capital cup, so warm-up, compete. They started on Floor...
So my 5 year old DD is doing Easter camp at the gym, 3 hours a day all week. It's the first time she's spent more than an hour at a time at the gym :)
When she got home today she told me she did her first pullover by herself :) but she was most excited that they got to do vault ;)
I only put...
DD was supposed to have a private Saturday but woke up sick. Her coach called me during that time and we started chatting. She said that she knew she probably shouldn't be telling me, but they've already make the decision to move DD up at the end of the season. She is currently a L4 and just...
My 4 y/o got her Back Walkover for the first time yesterday!!
She looked so cute doing it... I am so proud her her :)
PS- Sorry I have no other area to brag in yet :)

My DD brought me into the beam room last night to show me her newest skill she finally got...backwalk over on the high beam. As she was up there, concentrating.... getting herself reading to go over I was thinking WOW, look at the muscles in this girl's legs...

Hello to all you wonderful Gymnastics parents!
I was a gymnast growing up and love the sport. I took my soon to be 4yo DD to the gym near our home for open gym the other day and I left feeling very confused and of course so excited. We were there for 5 minutes when the coach came up to me...
Little man was state champ for rings, and placed well in his other events and placed in AA. A very good day for him and his teammates. According to his coach and current schedule, it looks like level 5 is in the cards for next season. Nice to see him getting his own day in the sun since his...
