    WAG Dance passage XCEL bronze

We recently completed our state meet and several of our girls had a 9.0 start value on floor. We were told that their dance series did not meet requirements, which I am sure is the case. Some of our girls competed a chasse’, split leap (leaps met angle requirement), followed by a straight jump...

WAG Xcel bronze to JO 4?

Sorry if this has been discussed already. I did a few searches but didn't find our situation or the posts were very old. DD was invited to join JO level 3 last year but chose to do Xcel bronze instead. She has been in gymnastics since she was 2 but really fell in love with it this season. She...

    Parents Xcel Bronze to JO3?

DD7 might be able to try out for her gym's JO3 team in May; she is now finishing her first season of Xcel Bronze. I'd love to hear from coaches or parents who have seen girls make this transition. What are the biggest hurdles? Bars, I'd guess? Anything she could do at home to improve her...

    Coaches Bronze Bars Dismount

Is the underswing dismount (current level 3 dismount) still acceptable for bronze? Im confused about this based off of what I'm reading in the code of points book and a handout I received at a recent training. Also, if still acceptable, does it have the same value as cast off to stand?

    Parents Xcel bronze floor routine

Ok I was reading the floor routine requirements and it says 2 tumbling passes, 1 that has 2 connecting skills and the other a single... Is that still the case case because our routine only has one tumble pass.... Unless a handstand counts as the 2nd tumble pass but I wouldn't think so. They do...

    Parents Xcel Bronze training hours

what are typical xcel bronze training hours. We opted for xcel due to reduced hours and dds other varied interests. The new schedule has her group training two 3hr sessions, side by side with xcel silver. Also they train until 8:30pm and her bedtime is 8 (she just turned 8 and will be in third...

Parents Is it bad form to leave a gym during Preteam? Also Xcel Bronze vs. Preteam?

My daughter who turns 7 this month is in a JO Preteam class (6 hours a week) that she loves. She started in June after a year in an advanced preschool class at the same gym. She is happy there, and if she progressed as expected, would switch to Level 3 in May and compete next August. It is a...

Parents Invitation to Xcel Bronze & Silver

My daughter is 7 and has spent almost 2 years on two different pre team levels. She recently had testing and was invited to join the competitive Xcel program. I do not know much about this, but I was wondering why the Xcel and not levels 1 or 2? Was she not good enough for those levels? I’ve...

WAG Xcel Bronze Beam - Adult

Long time no chat CB! I've been busy with work and out of the country! After I returned I realized my teammates signed me up for a meet (xcel Bronze) in January. As an out of shape 31 year old I'm worried I won't have all the skills clean in a month. For beam it states "One non-flight acro...

Parents Advice for a good friends daughter, Xcel Bronze or JO level 3?

Hi all, I am hoping to help a good friend with a decision. Disclaimer: This is a question for a friend who does not live in the same region, I think they are region 3 but not sure. Here is a little background first. My friends dd is a year older than mine, almost to the day, so she just...

WAG From bronze to level 4

My DD just competed her first season Xcel Bronze. She did very well. She now wants to jump over Level 3 and go to Level 4. Coaches Partial Handstand (Xcel Bronze)

I have a kid with some major fear and confidence issues. She has been competing a lever so far this year and scoring relatively well. She has been working really hard on her handstand but it's still not quite there, but she really wants to compete it this weekend. She gets her top leg to almost...

WAG Sharing an Xcel Bronze Routine, per suggestion. 8.275

So, with 44 judges (throwing out the high and low scores), this Xcel Bronze Routine scored an 8.275. Granted, the judges have NEVER seen Xcel Bronze before… AND they were all between the ages of 7 and 17…AND many of them are in Level 3 or Level 4, so have never dealt with Start Values before...

    English Bronze and Silver

We're headed that way in a couple of weeks and it is the first time we have ever been. I'm wondering whether it will be very high level gymnastics, or whether there is a wide range of gymnasts from different clubs that enter? And basically just being nosey if anyone has any comments on it.
