    WAG help....xcel/jo/gym switch

This may get long, and I have way over thought this, but I honestly do not know what to do. I have 2 DD's who compete xcel. 8 year old bronze DD, and 10 year old silver DD. At our gym, xcel is competitive - kids are expected to compete the max routines. 8 yo DD is talented - she does not put a...

    WAG Xcel and JO

Yes, I know it's been talked to death here but I'm tired of my Xcel girls being slaughtered by girls skipping JO compulsory levels. It's really just not fair to have girls training 6-8 hours a week competing against girls training 16-20 hours a week. Will the USAG ever relax the rigidity of...

WAG how are age divisions for JO Nationals compiled?

You would think that it would be fairly simple - take the number of L10s and divide them evenly into 8 age groups. Of course, many won't qualify for regionals but you still should have a pretty even number across the board. But that doesn't seem to be the case if there are some age divisions...

For provinces already using the JO system...

Are you using compulsory floor routines? Are they the same as in the states? We're taking the kids to a meet in BC and I'm worried about having to give them new floor routines, on top of learning skills they've never been introduced to before (mill circles, front hip circles etc) Thanks!

    WAG JO to Xcel Question

I'm in new level 4 right now... but uptrain a ton.... and would probably be fine competing 6 with maybe 9.5 sv (just for idea of skills). I love gym, but it seems to be injury after injury, fear after fear. I wanted to quit, but I still love the sport so you guys recommended xcel. I was...

    WAG Xcel to JO

I saw somewhere that if you were in Xcel and wanted to go to JO, you would have to start at level 4. Is this true if you already competed level 4 at an earlier time, or would you not be allowed to start at a higher level?

    Parents Xcel to JO??

If a child starts competing in Xcel (with dreams of JO), is it possibly to move to the JO program in the future at the same or a different gym (assuming the gym allows it)? I saw something on the USAG website stating "There is NO mobility from Xcel to the JO program." What does this mean...

Parents Do they score harder in JO than Xcel

It seems that the JO scores in our region are lower than the Xcel is this pretty common?

Alberta switching to JO next year...

What does everyone think of this? Anyone from other provinces that have already switched have any insight on it? I'm finding it frusterating trying to get the provincial kids ready for this year and then thinking about all the skills I'm pushing them on so hard, that won't even be needed next...

WAG Age trend in JO? Or, younger, better, faster...

Hi everyone, As some of you know, my younger DD went from Level 4 last year to Level 7 this year. She is in 4th grade and just turned 10. She had most of the level 7 skills a full year before competing them, and got her giant consistently 5 months before first meet. In her first 3 meets, she...

WAG Does Xcel score easier than JO?

I always thought it did, but in my first competition it seemed like the opposite. Was that just a coincidence, or does it actually score harder?(in general, I know there will be some where it varies)

Parents Higher JO hours in some areas than others?

I have noticed that JO programs in some other areas don't seem to train as many hours as they do where I live. Is it common for an area to have all gyms with high hours? Since these gyms compete against each other I guess it makes sense for them to all have the same hours -but I'm slightly...

Parents switch from xcel to JO?

I am trying to decide what would be best for DD (7). A little less than a year ago I moved her from rec to x cel pre team at a new gym further from our home. We love the gym and the program -it's really been great for her -but the drive is difficult for our family and the other kids. One of...

WAG Link to deductions for JO routines

I remember seeing a few weeks ago, someone posted a link in one of the discussion threads to a document that had common deductions for JO routines. I can't seem to find it now. If someone knows where it is, can they post a link? Thanks!!!
