Hi, I just finished competing USAG L5 and will compete L6 (although competing L7 also is not out of the picture) next year. My problem is that my split leap sucks. I can't get my legs to "pop" to split. I thought I was feeling the "pop" for a while, but actually I was just pushing off the ground...
One of my teammates has a lot of trouble with her switch leaps. ITs a shame because she's amazing at everything else, she's really talented but this is one thing that brongs her down and its a compulsory element in our routines! She just cant seem to get the leg that switches up. ITs almost...
I'm a coach and have a level 8 gymnast who needs to upgrade her SV on Floor.
How do I correctly teach the below leaps please:
1 - Split leap with full turn
2 - Switch leap with 1/2 turn (in flight)
Thank you :)
How do you teach a switch leap full?
I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum.
I really want my sister to do that skill in competition but her coach doesn't know how to teach it. My sister has awesome switch leap so I don't think the flexibility part would me a problem for her.
And is this...

I have a question about the leap/jump series in level 7. My dd is going to run and do a straddle jump into a tuck full turn jump. Her coach is a great choreographer - but her English isn't great and sometimes things get lost in translation when looking at the requirements. Does there have to...
One of my gymnasts is performing a split change leap to ring, the problem being that she cannot bend her back leg! She has hyper flexibility in her hip flexors, and her back, and has very square & flat splits, even when raised at up to 60cm. However her hamstrings are quite tight, she has done...
I am working on getting a 180 leap, it's not like i have much to go to get there, but my left leg in the back is lacking height, do you have any tips to get that leg higher? I am more flexible in my right side so i don't know if being equally flexible in both sides is necessary to have a good...
I think my dd losing points from not bringing her feet completely together after the switch leap before going into her sissone. When she tries to bring them completely together, she stutter-steps or loses split position in her sissone. What is she doing wrong?
i'm having a problem with getting my leaps on the beam higher and wider. right now i'm doing more of a puddle hop. i have wonderful, full 180 degrees, leap on the floor, but i just cant get them good on the beam.

Hi. My daughter is a 8 year old (almost) level 5. She is very good, confident, on beam. She can also be a bit aggressive on her leaps, straight jumps, etc. Her coach has been telling her to land her leaps on the ball of her foot and to be more quiet on the beam. When her teammate does a...
