I'm in xcel gold and my couch said if i do a tuck jump, split jump I don't have to do a leap, because of the split jump. Last year (on silver) i did a tuck, spit, and a leap soo.....
And I need help with my leap.
It soo small, it doesn't look like I'm trying. It's decent on floor but when i...
Can someone explain leap series rules on FLOOR to me pretty please. Some gymnasts seem to bounce along a lot between a run of two jumps and I never know how the scoring works. I am thinking FIG rules when I am watching top level competitions.
Thanks :-)
A few weeks ago During practice we were doing regular leaps on the high beams, I went for one and my foot slipped and I somehow slid down the beam and I had a beam burn (is a beam burn a thing?) down the outside part of my leg. Now when I do leaps on beam they are so small and I want to fix it I...
I'm finally out of my boot and am able to start doing some things.... Not consistently but 1 or 2 a week. So I started switch leaps as I've found they don't hurt, but I need help with getting my legs up. Tips or suggestions?
I have a group of girls struggling with split leaps and am hoping some of the coaches here can give me some new ideas for working with them.
Most of the girls have the basic idea, they have been working them for quite some time now, but unfortunately the problems they are having are all over...
My team is relatively weak on their split leaps and split jumps on both beam and floor.
There are several problems.
I have several that have good height and good split but their legs are bending getting the split position. Kind of a stag but it's certainly not a lift straight up with front or...
I need a jump connection for floor where both jumps must take off from one leg.
I have a regular split leap. I can't do switch leaps and also not side leaps.
Is there such a thing as a sissone leap? A sissone taking of from one leg?
I have a question about gymnasts and leaps. DD is 8. 9 this summer and just finished her level 4 season. She is crazy good on vault(undefeated all season and state champ) and decent and improving on the other events. Apparently she can successfully vault over the table on the highest setting...
One of my athletes stags her leg going into her split leap. She hits 180 and it's a gorgeous leap other than the stag, which is still pretty. Since we moved to Xcel, I haven't been haring on her about the stag because I thought it would be allowed, but at our judge's critique one of the judges...
My DD just completed the first half of her season as a level 5, and will finish the remainder of the season as an Xcel Gold. She just learned her choreography this week, and her dance pass is split leap, split leap. I have looked at the requirements for an Xcel Gold floor routine, and the way...
I used to be able to do really good leaps on the beam. While I was doing one, I straddled the beam and now I have a fear of them. How can I get over this mental block?
Most of the girls on my new Xcel team have no dance experience and their split leaps leave much to be desired. They are pushing off their back leg and hopping forward and look like teeter totters. As bad as they are on floor, they are REALLY bad and scary on beam. I can use some help.
Ok a little confused about leap series on floor .... how many steps can u take out of a swtich leap into another leap or jump without losing connection ... please explain the rule for that. Thank you very much.
I have a group of girls who just cannot leap. Not on floor, and obviously not on beam. They have improved in the months I've had them and most can do something that sort of resembles a leap, but it's a struggle. I'm looking for any and all tips, drills, whatever that could possibly help them...
I'm definitely on the muscle/power side of gymnastics. I'm level 9, and I've always struggled with leaps. I have good static flexibility, I have right over, center overs and left split.
However when I do leaps, they aren't very good. My switch leaps are still under 180* (also I can't straighten...
I have asked about leaps before but last night I was talking to DD's coach and she said she believed the issue was just that DD had not connected how to make her legs do what they need to do. She believes she CAN do it, she just hasn't figured out how to do it. It is frustrating DD to no end...
when I went to pick Odd up from gym today, she was in tears and said that her shin hurt, she told me it started hurting after she was doing leaps on floor( which we're switch slip, cat leap full) she thought it would go away so she started doing her in by's on vault and it hurt a lot more. I'm...
