L6 is the first optional and a huge task is obviously picking the floor music. I'm sure parents have a preference what their daughters will use. It's pretty overwhelming. I'm wondering what the crowd has done when picking.
1. Did you use JumpTwist? I find almost all of their song execution...
Hi, my daughter will be a first year optional in Jan '22, won't know for sure what level until October, but we are assuming 7. Curious when do your girls usually choose music and get routines choreographed for the season? I had asked our coach about choosing music a couple weeks ago and was told...
Would you like men to have music with their floor?
I'm not really sure about it, but I think it would be interesting to see what they could do artistically with the music. I do kind of like how when the men stick a landing you can really hear it though.
This is an opinion only of course, but I wish the gymnasts from my country (USA) had better floor music. Rarely does the music draw me in anymore. It just seems like a mixture of unmemorable sounds in the background. Even if the gymnast is more athletic than artistic, I would still think they...
So at our end of year program I got to hear what I hope is the last of this go round of compulsory music.
And I know I’m in the minority but Level 5 might be favorite of the lot.
Is there anyone who would be happy to give cutting some music a go for me? I’m rubbish at it!
I have found a few different cuts of the music
this is an extended version I like a lot
This is a shorter version of it
And these are two other cuts that I think I like a little less
If...
Is there anyone who knows how to edit music (floor music) who could possibly help me edit a new floor music? I want to cut out some parts of the song and make the transitions smooth. /level 8 gymnast

How often do your optional gymnasts switch up their floor music?
DD1 was XG 2 years ago. This is the level where our owner allows the girls to start using their own music and routines. We paid for choreography and music then.
She competed a full season of XG with that music.
Last year, she did...
My coach said i need something older aka more mature. How ever i want it to be mature but also upbeat and happy she said it needs to tell a story. My older teammate helped me out with her floor music brain and we decided something Brodway jazz or just jazzy but i still dont know where to llook...
My daughter loves this music and was hoping to use it next year, but a teammate has it and is not planning to give it up. Any suggestions for something similar?
Hi everyone! I’m a level 6 gymnast, and I want to change my floor music. I’m thinking something sassy with a Spanish/ Tango twist to hype me up. Also, for choreography- any ideas on how to choreograph? My coach did last time but she’s not very creative. We are hoping for 1:00-1:10, but I can cut...
My daughter is having a hard time picking out her floor music (L7). She was super excited about the prospect, but now it is stressing her out. She currently has a routine to that blends strings and a hiphop beat and loves it. She's supposed to come up with 4 options, but is really stuck. One...
Hi all! I was wondering if anyone would know where to find or perhaps has a copy and would kindly share the USAG Level 5 compulsory floor music prior to 2005? My teammate (we are college club gymnasts) was looking for it and could not find it online or on YouTube. Thanks!
My daughter found this music on YouTube and loves it. I haven’t been able to find a similar version anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a way she could use it? Or can I purchase it?
There is a thread from 2015 about this but was hoping for some more recent info. Has anyone had success using either Jumptwist or Energym for custom music? Or, any other recommendations would be great. DD found music but it's not cut and needs more than a cut at the beginning or end. Thanks!
I have always been saving floor music to use for the future. But after re-listening to all of them . . . I don't think they'd fit me very well. I have been looking on youtube for weeks now, asking advice from coaches and I'm stumped! I am not able to find any floor music to suit my...
I had so much fun doing this two years ago, and I've just started cutting music again. Let me know if there's any music you'd like cut!
Here are some examples of what I've done previously:
One of my younger gymnasts is intent on using pop music for her optionals floor routine.
She's 8 (turning 9) and what I would call stocky, short and muscular. She's neither the most powerful gymnast nor very poised/ballet-like. More power than ballet though. :D
She likes this song but I'm not...
