Parents Another type of sleep "issue"

When I saw the post about sleep issues I thought it might be about the one my dd has, so I thought I'd post to see if anyone else experiences this. Basically, she jerks around in her sleep, and I'm pretty sure she's doing gymnastics all night long. Sometimes it's very obvious that it's...

    Parents Losing sleep/anxiety

My daughter can't get out of her own head. I reminded her yesterday that her meet is next week which apparently she forgot. I think it dawned on her she only has a few days to clean up her bar routine and last night she couldn't get to sleep. It was 1am and she was still up, she does this...

WAG Woodward camp question -- Sleep???

I saw a day schedule and now I'm concerned about the amount of sleep time offered. One of my children needs 10 hours for a full night's sleep. The camp where I worked as a counselor has lights-out at nine, up at seven, and a generous rest period after lunch. Woodward seems to be much less!

Parents When are they supposed to sleep?

I just got my 9th grader's bus times in the mail (starting school next week). I am trying to figure out how she is supposed to sleep. Bus time is 5:40am (so must be at bus stop at 5:30am) and school begins at 7. She gets home on the bus at 3:30pm (will be later the first few weeks). I have...

Parents How much sleep does your gymnast get in a weeknight?

Just wondering if my dd is the only one this short on sleep. Gymnastics is her only after school activity, but the school workload is huge so she does work at recess and sometimes during lunch them goes right to the books when she gets home, has dinner, and then hits the gym every day from 5:30...

    Parents Sleep Away camp... IGC

My DD wants to go. She has seen the facility because of older siblings and she really wants to go EXCEPT she is just terrified of the idea of sleeping away from us. She really is a baby for her age but I don't believe in PUSHING kids into these situations too early. She is 9.5 yrs old, has never...

    Fighting sleep before meets?

How do I stop fighting sleep before meets? I usually can't fall asleep, or I can't fall asleep and fight sleeping when I get tired. That results in me falling asleep around 3:00 am, which drastically reduces my performance in meets. Any tips on how to get better sleep before meets?

Parents Gymmie that doesn't eat, sleep, breath gymnastics

My daughter started gymnastics at around 7 1/2 at a recreational gym. She's currently 10 1/2 and she just finished competing level 3 USAG at more competetive gym. She did ok, with her highest score being just under 35. She's got the skills solid, but her form is what keeps her from scoring...

    Parents Sleep Over meets

Just curious if your gym does this and how far away you travel. Are the meets you travel to big? Are they held at the host gym or at another venue? Do all the gymnasts go to all the sessions of the meet? Just curious how it works for others.

    Off Topic Sleep walking.

Seriously going to have to get alarms on the doors. Either a full home alarm system (which wouldn't be a bad idea) or some kind of contact alarms for the doors. Kadee and her sleep walking it driving me bananas. She has done it more since we moved into this house than she has her whole life...

How many hours of sleep does your gymnast get a night?

My kids had their annual check ups today and their pediatrician said that elementary school aged kids should be getting 12 hours of sleep a night . Older kids should be getting at least 9 or 10, and she said that US children do not get the amount of sleep that they should and that the lack...
