As I was looking at information for regionals this year, I got lost in the site and came across the fact that each state in the region sets a state team. When I was looking at the girls who comprised our state team, I noticed that some very talented/higher scoring girls were not part of the...
I recently had a meet in xcel gold and I scored my lowest AA score In my life! I think it was close to a 35.00. Anyway I was wondering what AA score you needed to go to state. and if the AA Score that gets you into state can only be reached at the first meet or throughout the season? Thanks!
We're very new to gymnastics, let alone competing, so any advice you might have on how to attend a meet on a budget will not be too obvious to post. The closest experiences I have had involved music competitions as a teenager, but those were always day trips and I wasn't the adult.
One of the...
Well I picked up DD tonight from practice. She said she tweaked her wrist after a teammate was horsing around trying to 'scare' her while she was working on on ROBHS-BT. It worked. She balked during her round off and landed strange on her wrist.
It was iced and she continued the practice. She...
DD broke her pinky on her non-dominant hand. Required surgery 4 days later, inserted 2 pins, did not affect the growth plate. State competition is 5 weeks after her injury. Cast comes off about 12-13 days before she would compete. DD has missed the last THREE years of State for various...
Any word on when results will be posted! The last two years were on 8/18 and 8/20. Maybe this year will be today 8/19. Who else is on pins and needles!!!!
I'm having a hard time finding last year's SoCal state results on mymeetscores.com. Could someone (smarter than me) copy me a link to the correct page? Thanks oodles.
This was my dd first time testing and I am happy it's over. Overall it was a great experience and she can't wait for next year when she gets to compete as an 8 yr old and test on skills.
For all those that tested I wish your little ones the best of luck!!
Now the fun starts on waiting if they...
Hi there Aussie mums and dads. I've been following your posts for a few months but finally plucked up the courage to join your community. I've learned so much from all that the gym community has shared and I hope I can help others out as well, and generally just connect with people who spend...
Well I've reached the end of a difficult season. I've been battling a shoulder injury all year & for the past three weeks, dizziness & lack of balance. Just two weeks ago, it was so bad that I couldn't do a kip, ROBHS, or stand on a beam. Somehow vault was still fine though. Throughout that...
I finally have his video done. So not his best meet. Lots of little errors, but he made regionals, and is really excited. Hopefully he will have lots of great changes for regionals.
(advise watching with sound off...there is a crazy lady that keeps yelling during his performances... :) )
I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a huge competition background. DD just finished her fourth season. So I've been to a fair number of meets but not pretending to be the end all. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen a time when girls got to perform their routines a second time for...
Ok, dd has had a great year. Bars have been especially good, typically getting 1st or 2nd at level 7 for the past 4-5 meets. The coaches are usually laid back about States, but this year, they have really been pressuring the girls on level 7-10.
My dd works directly with HC. There is a second...
I have the honor of coaching at states for the first time in a couple weeks. I live far from the venue and trying to get organized for the event so I don't forget anything. From your first state meet or any large meet experience, I'd like to hear some tips /advice.
Every year I get all my teammates bendable flowers, the big ones that feel like stuffed animals. Well I can't find them anywhere this year! So I need new ideas, preferably small, I don't wanna have to spend a ton of money. There are 12 other girls besides me in optionals, but I would like to get...
My 12 year old L9 didnt qualify this year . She needed a 32AA . She didn't do AA until the last meet of the season due to injury and she didn't make it (31.3) . I saw in another post that to qualify for states , someone needed a 29? So I was just curious if it differed state to state . We live...
