i tried looking for posts about this but they are all pretty old and I know it changes from year to year ....
DD turns 8 the week before state, and even though making state is going to be good enough in my eyes, I feel like her competing with 8 year olds at state when she's been in the lower...
I am finding it enlightening that each state seems to do things a different way in regards to qualifying for states. I figured the way our state does things was done by the USAG rule book and all states did it the same way. That is not the case!
So curious if your state gives anything out to...
Hi! Mom to a new level 8, curious what the state qualifying score is in Texas? And also does qualifying to regionals work the same way level 7 did? Top percentage?
thanks! :)
Does your gym mandate that gymnasts travel to meets across the country? If so, at what level does that start? DD is in level 3, and so far "traveling" meets have been optional, but I think that changes for us in level 4 or 5, when she will be required to fly to two meets in states too far to...
My dd is a L9. She broke her 5th metatarsal in her left foot almost six weeks ago coming out of a twist on floor. She was in a cast for three weeks and the bone was healing very well at that point. She was then given a boot for three weeks. It comes off on Wed. DD has been going in for some...
We are in WA state and have recently switched from a gym that competes winter compulsories to a gym that competes fall compulsories. Is the age cutoff date for level 3 the same for both? If I understand the ages correctly, she barely makes the winter cutoff--she will be 6 on March 30. I cannot...
my daughter is on her gym's TOPS Team and she is 8 and it is her first year doing TOPS Team. The gym's TOPS Team is given high priority in the gym with an eye towards State testing. However, the issue is the gym is not prepared to fully commit to State Testing every year as a matter of course...
The NJ Xcel State Championship meet was this past weekend (April 30th - May 1st). The Aero Flyers had a fantastic showing. I literally was in the best mood this whole week! :D
When all was said and done, I had three state champions. THREE!!! My talented seven year old Bronze, my super...
I was going to post this in the private coach forum but this general WAG forum gets much more traffic and I kind of need some feedback ASAP.
We have several kids going to the State banquet this year for winning AA at State. I coach lower level compulsories, and we had two L3s win from the...
Hi CB community,
I'm working on a project for my daughter and am in need of help. She is doing an essay for school about her sport and is in need of stats for her level. What I need is stats on # of gymnasts in L10 at state levels. I've found quite a few by digging on provided score sheets...
Quick question as we're MAG newbies. Despite DS not having his best meet, he qualified to our state's All-State Team for level 4. From what was announced at state meet, this is the top 20 level 4 boys, 18 highest AA scores from ages 6, 7, and 8, then the next two highest AA scores from all ages...
My daughter was 0.05 point from advancing into regionals in her age group. Our gym does not have anyone competing in the last session. Does anyone know what is the cut off score to be included in "at large" group?
We had our state meet this week and I am really proud of my guy. It was not his best meet and I knew something wasn't quite right. When he came out in tears before awards with a "my head hurts SOOOO bad". Not the best time for the first migraine of the pollen season. To add insult to injury...
Alrighty ;)
D had a decent meet last night. He did 3 events. Started on Pbars..not his best 10.8. Had a really interesting/nasty fall, but it was funny at the same time. His next event was floor. Beautiful! Great routine 13.2 and 5th place!! Finally was pommel. Again, way better and...
