We are at a gym with a very small team program -8 level 3s this year. Fewer in levels 4 and 5. We just learned that our entire level 3 group will stay together as a training group for next season but some will compete 4 and some will repeat 3. There will also be a new group of 3s (coming from...
I stink at coming up with titles, lol.
I wanted to start this new thread off of the nutrition thread below.
It seems like all our gymnasts have different lengths of trying and the break times vary also. This is kind of a survey for my own curiosity and to see what differences are out there...
What about doing a comparison of different training styles of gymnastics for a master thesis?
I would cover 3-4 countries (USA, China, Romania and maybe a fourth) and compare different of gymnastics training, for example:
- what age do children start
- why do they start
- how is training...
Hi everyone,
I haven't had time to check in or post lately but will hopefully more now. My 7 y.o. (turned 7 last month) was invited on the level 3 training team! They start this fall, then will compete starting September 2016. She is very focused and determined, but I am wondering if she is...
Is anyone else watching the podium training live feed? I saw that Simone has a punch barani on beam now! I'm having a little bit of a hard time IDing most of the gymnasts but I'm pretty sure I saw Aly on vault and her DTY didn't look as clean as I expected.
Any other observations?
Our gym only offers our girls (level 2-6) 4 hours in the gym a week. I personally think this is absurd, they are not getting the training they need. We have to pay for privates to get more time in the gym. What are the average gym hours per week for your gyms? Thanks so much!
Hello- new here but hoping for someone with experience or advice. My DD is training L8. She excels at floor and vault. However, bars and beam are more of a challenge. Her coach says she is not being aggressive to get enough repetitions in during the week (hangs out at the chalk bucket a little...
I always find that after a full day of school, when I go to gymnastics after about an hour at training I get so tired and I start to lag! And I tend to do about 3 hours time so 2 of them are spent not as well as they could be because I get too tired! I also find that in the holidays And weekends...
Hi there!
Just wondering if anyone has had their girls train in the USA while being on holidays and where they did it..
We will be in the US for 4 weeks next August and going from LA to Vegas.
Many girls from our gym tend to train while away in the states, while I hadn't really thought about it...
