When I do my leaps, I get looks like I'm doing it all wrong. My coaches say I'm still doing it as if I'm going through the front door, and it's too much of a flowy motion that goes forward too much. I try to keep my chest up and body straight but it doesn't seem to be changing what my coaches are saying I'm doing wrong. Has anybody here had a similar problem and know of anything that might help me?

I have my students do an easy drill - starting about 3' back from a stacked panel mat, facing it on the narrow end, step, step,LEAP - up and onto a circle drawn on the mat. you have to be very aware of the front leg - do not let it bend.
