O

Ollie

At dance last night (in jazz) we were doing pirouettes, I went for a double (I normally do triples) and when I went up in relevè I rolled my ankle. For the rest of dance (about and hour and a half) I elevated my foot and when I got home I iced it. The part that hurts the most is the outside part of my ankle/foot. I can't point it or flex it fully. And it hurts to walk. What should I do?

I agree with the above poster. What should have been a 4-6 week full recovery ended up being nearly 6 months... And it still isn't normal.

I actually did the same thing but landed harder... turned out to be an avulsion fracture in my foot + bad ankle sprain. Go to a doctor. I was in a boot for 3 weeks, and have been in an ankle brace since May of this year. Good luck!!

Thanks for replying everyone! It turned out not to be a sprain, it's almost as bad as one though. I have to wear a ankle brace for gymnastics and dance right now.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
