I have an athlete that seems to have excellent swings on Rings, but struggles with the back uprise. I have tried to correct his back swing by creating a fast turnover with shoulders down, then pulling the rings down and straight out to raise the chest. The introduction of the new technique has made his swing jerky coming forward through the bottom. Should we tough it out through this new technique? If so, any ideas on what I can tell the gymnast to 1. Get the back uprise, and 2. smooth out the tap at the bottom of the forward swing?

Thanks.

Is this gymnast keeping straight arms through out the skill. This is a tough skill, and have found with my six's and seven's that id does come easier over time and many reps. Be sure he is finishing his back swing ( heel drive) completely before pulling the rings underneath him. He will struggle if he rushes the trick.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
