DD has a beautiful, controlled handstand, bridge, kickover. However, when she does her backbend, bridge, kickover, the back bend is super jerky (she goes a little ways, stops, little farther, stops, etc.). Is that a confidence thing? Looking for where to put her hands? Something else?

I am asking purely out if curiosity sake! Her coaches are amazing and I am just a silent spectator. :)

For lot of gymnasts, backbends are scarier than handstand bridges simply because you can't see where you're going in a backbend. When some gymnasts are learning the skill, they aren't prepared for the landing and bend their arms (and bonk their head). Your daughter is likely going slow to "play it safe," which manifests in a jerky motion.

Just a conjecture...
