My son will be helping out at a gym this summer and I suggested he take the U100 course so he could become more permanent at the gym. He is 16 and ex gymnast of 9 years.
Is this the first step for him in becoming a coach?

All of the USAG courses are good. They are all highly recommended by me.

What will he be coaching?

Right now? Anything they tell him....LOL
He is there as the all purpose fill in, the guy needed to oversee conditioning, etc. Eventually I think he would like to teach boys, but who knows. I'm just glad he will put his gymnastics knowledge to use instead of flipping burgers or stocking shelves.....
