I thought I would share what is going on with my family right now. Bigger Baby Bog had to stop T&T in November due to a diagnosis of a stress fracture in her lower back. She had stopped WAG in May due to lower back pain and the long hours.:(

Then this week, Bitty Baby Bog has stopped WAG, she wasn't loving it anymore and she has been having a lot of knee pain. :(

For the first time in 11 years I have no kids in the gym! Guess what now Bitty wants to do cheerleading.

I will have to live vicariously through all your kids now.:p Life, amazingly enough, goes on. The girls are both happy and I have a lot more time on my hands and my gas bill is going to be WAY lower.

It is good to realise that gym is just something your kids do, it is not your kids life.

I am glad to hear that they are both happy with their decisions. Good Luck with Cheerleading, I hope she has lots of fun :)

Wow, 11 years in gymnastics! We are on year 3 and it seems like a lifetime already!! My DD went to a cheer camp over the last summer at one of the local high schools. She had a ball! She still does the cheers she learned around the house. Baby bog will love it I am sure!! You can still get a gymnastics fix whenever you want here on the chalkbucket!

Sending my best wishes to you and both of your girls! Big changes for sure, but it is good that everyone seems okay with the changes! I am sure you will all find many ways to enjoy your newly-found free time :)

hey bog, i hear you on the saving gas. by the way, cheer is really taking hold up in canada. you know what i do in my day job...i was lecturing at a conference for their industry not long ago down here in kentucky. SEVERAL cheer clubs were represented by canada.

hope you stay tuned here.:)

I won't be going anywhere Dunno, I was a gym junky long before I had kids so I think I'll just have more time. Well until cheer starts, tryouts aren't until June, but the cheer club is a 70 minute drive away! I am almost tempted to start my own club, but that funky tumbling does my head in!

Wow that is a big change. Hope you don't leave us here at chalk bucket.

I have you beat though I have 15 years between my son and Daughter in this. Son started at 3yo and went until he was 16 then 3 years as a boys team coach. DD started at 18 mos with the mommy and me and here we are 12 years later. I guess its safe to say she enjoys this LOL.

Good luck with the cheerleading! That can get just as involved as Gymnastics as they move forward too.

So sorry to hear of the injuries - I hope they both heal quickly.

No doubt that they'll find something they love and at which they can succeed - whether it's cheer or something else entirely. Like the USAG motto - Start here, Go Anywhere!

I am glad to hear that the kids are happy with their decision and are looking forward to new things. Baby Bog will LOVE cheer! It's a lot of fun :). Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Glad that both girls are happy and doing well, that is what matters. All our kiddos will stop gymnastics some day, I am sure it will be tough (but I can already IMAGINE all that money I will have, LOL), but if they are done, they are done. Hope Bigger Baby Bog heals and gets healthy. Hope that Bitty Baby Bog finds somewhere she can do cheer (and am hoping somewhere closer will open up for you!). Hugs!

Wow 11 years is a long time and you still have your sanity LOL! Glad the girls are off onto other adventures which I am sure will bring new angst to you (like the 70min car ride to cheering) :) Also glad your wisdom is sticking around too! Enjoy, it's amazing how fast the kids grow up!

Hope the girls heal well and enjoy their next adventures in life. You are just having a break from gym really. It won't be long before you will have to take the grandkids. LOL>

Wow Bog. First you should get some kind of medal for the 11 yrs in gym. Second, I'm sorry to hear about the knee pain and the stress fracture. Gym is hard on bodies. It's good for them, but it isn't...
Anyway I am sure little one will be a great cheerleader. The 70 minute drive is a MAJOR bummer but you will get a break between now and June to tune up the vehicle, right?

Well after the physio appointment tonight I have a feeling that cheer will not be on the cards for Baby Bog, though a lot of icing, stretching and rehab will be! LIfe sometimes throws you curve balls, I did not expect both myy girls to be stopping gym in the same year due to injuries, but that is exactly what has happened.

I will make the most of the time at home with the girls.

So sorry both your babies ended up leaving the sport with injuries. And Im sorry to hear that Baby Bog isnt going to be able to do cheer. Im sure she will find something else in time that will make her happy. I hope all the best for both of your DDs in the adventures the choose in life. Im sure they will be truely happy in what they do. Best wishes to them on getting themselves back in the best health possible for them. In time you will be spending all your time traveling back and forth to other things for them.
