My daughter is moving gyms after regionals and will be going from Platinum to level 7. Her new coaches (who are actually her old coaches because they moved gyms) feel she is ready. I trust them and she is excited...but wondering what skills might be a hurdle for her? She's very very strong on bars and equally weak on vault. Beam/floor she's above average. 11-years old, small for her ago and this will be her 5th season competing. Looking for any expectation guidance from experienced coaches, parents or judges. Thanks!

It really depends on the skills that she was competing in platinum. What skills did she compete?
Vault - that weird half on half off (not even sure if that's what it's called but it seems to be the most common platinum vault)

Bars - kip, cast, clear hip, kip to squat on, jump to high bar, kip, layout flyaway

Beam - competes roundoff, also has bhs but hasn't competed it. handstand back tuck dismount

Floor - competes robhs back layout, front tuck front pike

Vault - shouldn't be that big of a jump, she can just do the 1/2 on timer up to the mat
Bars - most gyms will want a kip cast handstand and giants, and top scoring level 7s usually have a clear-hip to handstand
Beam - Should be fine with skills listed
Floor - Should be fine with skills listed

Based on what you posted, it seems like bars would be the only event she wouldn't already have all the skills ready for.

Vault for level 7 is a vault onto a mat stack; usually a roundoff or yurchenko. Bars she would need a cast HS, or at least close to. She would also need another "B", such as another free hip or giant on the highbar. Most common L7 bars routine ive seen is: Kip, squat on, cast hs, free hip hs, giant (or 2 giants), layout flyaway. Beam she would need a flight and a connection (the flight can be in the connection or solo) a common beam routine at my gym is: Cartwheel - Roundoff, Leap, Split jump - Tuck jump, Full turn, cartwheel tuck dismount. Although a cartwheel-cartwheel and roundoff separate would work, too. Floor it looks like she has, as long as she has a switch leap and a 1 and 1/2 turn.
