Well another question on this if anyone knows..... DD casually mentioned to me this morning that she needs a RO layout 1/2 beam dismount for Elite.... and not for bonus - for minimum requirements. I'm hoping she misunderstood. Anyone?

I am wondering if she might compete Aspire for a while if the requirements for Elite have edged up alot.

DD says that bars is now only 2 giants to flyaway to make room for bonus skills. She didn't hear anything yet bout the layout half beam dismount. And she said that there is no way she is doing a layout half dismount, she would rather do a full because a half is scary.

I suspect DD will not be doing much in the way of bonus at the outset, with the exception of beam. But she's not ever done a twisting beam dismount at all. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Thanks for the bars info - she's still doing 3x giant to flyaway

Same goes for my dd. do you know how many of the aerial/tucks are required on beam? What would be bonus? And my dd has never done more than a layout dismount either.

DD has a consistent back tuck which she'll do.... Her aerial cartwheel and BHS BLO may come at later meets I think (ie in new year) as I don't know if they are consistent enough at this stage - I could be wrong. So I'm assuming just the one is sufficient and the rest is bonus.

Info that is coming in cribs and drabs as I talk to coach, etc.....

For ELITE floor:
So RO BHS layout full is a req'd tumble line now instead of a bonus like last year.
FHS FLO req'd....same as last year. One other line with two saltos required, same as last year (DD doing front to layout, so the 1/2 twist requirement seems to be gone unless they plan on adding that to her line at some stage in the next little while)
Switch ring is a bonus (this is her one bonus at this point on floor), so I'm sure any other C dance is a bonus as well, as was the case last year.

So apparently my dd will be doing a round off, whip, back handspring, full twist; round off back handspring, layout one and a half twist, and a front handspring front layout as her passes.

Or as she has told me: whip to full, one and a half, and front spring lay.

She is so embarrassed of me because I just don't get the lingo.

Also she does a switch split to a switch split full? Is that a thing? She said will never do the ring? because she isn't flexible enough. (I am writing what she told me and I tried to write down without her knowing, lol.

Do you know if vault is still to stacked mats? She is doing crazy flipping vaults from the bouncy board but I don't know what they are competing.

Yes vaults to stacked mats, either tsuk or yurchenko entry

I should add that that is in addition to the standard handspring to feet vault. Those vaults above are to candle position (shoulders).

I might be worse, in that I've come to figure out some of it, so actually have attempted to use it in all seriousness, only to be completely scoffed at by my nine year old.

Last year the NSC qualifier was in Burlington, as part of a provincial qualifier. Usually in that case National and CPN is on the Friday, but I don't know for this meet. DH has booked Friday off work just in case.
