Basic shape jumps forwards and backwards off a trampoline or box at different (safe) heights. Pits are great to teach little ones pike and straddle as they can focus on getting their legs all the way up without fear of landing on their bottoms. Falling in backwards and keeping their arms in (teaching how to fall) forward rolls with a wedge half in half out of the pit. Coach in the pit throwing a foam whole gymnast tries to jump and catch it before they land in pit. This can also be done with different shapes. Put a mat into the pit and they have to jump and land on top the mat and try to “stick it” by landing in motor bike and not moving for three seconds. If they can do this with a straight jump then they move onto harder jumps etc.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
