Im really struggling with my free hip for platinum, mostly just the kip up part at the end. Are there other skills I could do instead?
My routine for platinum (which is the level I hope to compete this coming season) is pullover, cast above horizontal, free hip, (hit my feet on the floor) kip up, squat on, kip on high bar, back hip circle underswing, fly away.
I'm going to keep practicing my free hip of course, but if there are other skills I could do instead until I get it that would be great.
Any help and/or input is super appreciated!

Could you do a free hip on night bar unto a flyaway, that way you won't have to hit your feet! This is coming from a XCEL PLATINUM gymnast

I'll talk to my coach about that! I've thought a little about that, but have only seen other gymnasts do it on the low bar so I didn't really think of it as an option.
Thanks for the idea/help!

Definitely an option, and putting it on the high bar is what we always suggest to girls who hit their feet.
Just need to choreograph the routine to make sure you are getting the correct number of skills.
Pullover, cast above horizontal, back hip circle, squat on, kip on high bar, clear hip circle, fly away. That is 6A and 1B ... 10.0SV and fewer skills to get deducted on.
