Hello!
New mom to the gymnastics world here! I have 4 kids: Mozart - 13 year old son (dancer and musician), DaVinci - 10 year old son (artist), Einstein - 8 year old daughter (dancer and The Brain), and BeeBee Loo - 8 year old daughter (fliiper extraordinaire). While Mozart, Einstein, and BeeBee Loo have all participated in fun summer gymnastics things and taken tumbling/acro through dance for years, this is the first time I have a child in gymnastics during the school year. BeeBee Loo decided tumbling through dance was not challenging enough. I have to be honest here - I know absolutely NOTHING about gymnastics. The culture so far has been completely different than what we are used to and I'm not sure I'm keen on the politics of it all. I look forward to learning from all of you on this forum! :D

Welcome! I have my own Einstein daughter (dancer/brain) and my own BeeBee Loo... but they're twins. They turn 10 in (gulp) nine days! I have no background in gymnastics (or dance either, for that matter, though so far the dance is somewhat less intense than the gymnastics experience... she's not competing... yet!) and this site has been more helpful than I can say.

The other day, as I was waiting to pay for something gymnastics related (because it seems like I'm always paying for something gymnastics related), the woman in front of me was signing her daughter up for the preschool class. I told her "Turn back now! While there's still time!" I suppose I was kidding (mostly). Kathy has gotten so much out of gymnastics. I suppose a little insanity is a small price to pay.

Anyway, good luck, welcome to chalk bucket, and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. People here are great and VERY helpful!
