All you gymnasts, please be careful when doing gymnastics at home. We all do it (myself at 44 years old included) so I'm not saying don't, just be careful. One of my students broke her foot today doing a handstand in her living room. She came down on a heavy wooden bench and her foot was no match for it. She is on crutches for 10 days and in a boot for 6 weeks. Grrrr.

Amen to that! I had a Level 8 break her foot doing a back handspring on her bed, her foot hit the dresser. Boy was I mad at her that week!

Preach it!
I blew out my knee showing off my splits. I slipped in some water and had to have my ACL replaced (I was 42 and should have known better ). It may have also been partially do to the wine I was drinking at the time, but I will continue to insist that it was the water on the floor.

I also broke a bone in my foot tripping over the 6ft practice beam.
Gymnastics for old farts is dangerous!!!

My 10 yo is a lot smarter than I am and knows that no tricks are allowed at home.
