PREPARE FOR A RANT :

Okay, so tonight I was handing out Halloween candy and a group of 6th graders that go to my school came up to my house. One girl was like ''Oh! I know you. I've seen you before!! Since I know you can I take two pieces of candy!???'' Before I even said yes or no, she just went and grabbed a big handful of candy--and we were already almost out!!!! Then another one of her stupid friends was like ''I'm gonna take two-no three-no five--- The girl ended up taking three handfuls!!!!!!!! We were out of candy then. Then the girls ran off before i could start screaming my head off at them or telling them to put it back--or better yet, punching the girl in the face..lol.. But I am still veeerrryyyy angry!!!! It was just plain rude.. Stupid sixth graders...

not stupid 6th graders but stupid kids who's parents haven't taught them manners. we never let them take from the bowl we will take the handfull and drop one or two in the bag and they get what we give them that stops the grab and dash kids. (I've seen that in younger kids too)

I agree that it is stupid kids who's parents haven't taught them manners. My dd is a 6th grader and although they can act a little rambunctious, she is NOT stupid. I am with Cher in that I drop a few pieces in their bags which eliminates the kids rooting through the bowl themselves.

I didn't mean 6th graders in general, just the girls that came up.. Sorry.

No problem B Gymnast :). Sometimes kids (of any age) can get very rude to other kids or teenagers. I seriously doubt those kids would have acted that way if your mom had answered the door and was handing out the candy!

I have to agree with the other ladies. That whole thing goes back to the parents. I know when I was a kid I would never even THINK about acting that way. My Momma would have tanned my hide if she heard or saw any of us kids doing that, and that includes our friends too..lol. My kids are very little still (3 and 5) and I am doing everything I can to teach them manners. One of the houses they went to, the person handing out the candy..put the bucket down for them to reach and told them to take as much as they want . I told them to take one a piece. They did, and he said, "no..take as much as you want". We went back and forth like this for a bit. My kids inner desire battling with what they knew they should do. Finally, I had to get a little short with the man, and say.."No..I told them one each..that is what they will take. Thank you very much". I do not want my kids to be one of "those kids", even when given permission to be. Try not to take it personaly. They were just rude kids, who saw chance to take advantage, and did. Im sure you were not the first or last that they did it to. I know there were 3 or 4 houses that my kids went up to (they had their porch lights on) that just had the bowl out there. Only one of the bowls still had anything left in it, and my kids being little went around 7ish (so it was still "early").
