Would a handstand forward roll on beam count as a platinum connection, or just a single skill? I'm struggling with figuring out a connection as I don't have any flight skills. Thanks in advance :)

Is it handstand (put feet on the beam) into a forward roll, or an actual handstand forward roll?
The first one is a connection, the second one is not (however, it is a "B")

Handstand forward roll is one skill, not a connection. Here are some of the easiest connections allowed:
Handstand-Handstand (provided you hit handstand)
Forward roll-Forward roll
Foward Roll-Handstand / Foward Roll-Cartwheel
Handstand-Cartwheel / Cartwheel-Handstand
Hope you find a connection!

I think you need a vertical acro in your routine (not required in connection though). And it you do the same skill twice in a routine, you have to add something like a straight jump out of it to get credit for it being two different skills

You can't do a forward roll - forward roll series and have it count as the acro series. The rule is: One (1) Acro Flight element OR Acro Series – with or without Flight – Minimum of one skill must achieve or pass through vertical (excluding Mount or Dismount)

Thank you so much for all the info!! I'll probably try a handstand forward roll, to another handstand for platinum, or two backward rolls; because I have a back injury, and my cartwheels are super inconsistent.
Thanks again! Super helpful!

If you do 2 backward rolls, you would have to do one of those to a handstand.

You can't do two backward rolls for the acro series for the same reason that you can't do two forward rolls.

Oops, sorry I didn't clarify. It would be two connected backward rolls, and an additional handstand later in my routine to get the vertical requirement. Though, this will probably be my backup if other connections don't work out.

I still don't think that will work. It looks like the rule for the series is that at least one skill in the series has to achieve vertical or pass through vertical. I would check with your coach though to be sure. They should have the latest copy of the code of points.
