Learn the truth about FAI. Read the articles linked below before leaving a comment that only parrots what a doctor or WebMD said. The research done to back the theory behind FAI is shaky at best:

First article on diagnostic criteria for FAI making no sense: http://uprighthealth.com/?p=7558

Followup article on a study done on the reliability of x-rays and anterior hip impingement tests:http://uprighthealth.com/?p=7703

Do you have a gymnast with FAI? I'm not sure what my hip ended up being officially "diagnosed" as...but it sounds very similar to this and is VERY painful - not so much now, but throughout high school gymnastics. Now I just avoid things that irritate it.

Luckily they ruled this out after an X-Ray and MRI. They think her hip is hurting due to growth...tendon is inflamed and pulling to much on the growth plate. Rested her for 3 weeks and now we are working our way back in. We still have not done any leaps as that was the major issue before. We are starting the leaps this week...so we'll see.

Obviously I'm not a doctor, lol...but I had to wear compression shorts to help stabilize my hip. Helped a little bit - couldn't do many straddle jumps/straddle kips/splits and quite a few other things. If it persists, maybe that would help.
